FWIW - my favorite SATA setup has a Supermicro motherboard, Adaptec 2410SA PCI SATA RAID card, and 4 x 74 GB Western Digital 10k Raptor drives in a RAID 5 (with hot-spare) config . I am either going to heave the entire thing out the window, or put in an IDE RAID controller and re-install the whole thing.
